10 Questions for Pakistan

1) Why did he sign the deal with the tribal leaders in Warizistan? Is it because Pakistani forces killed Nawab Bugti and he thinks the Baloch's are going to truck with Pastuns?
2) Are the tribal leaders hiding the big kahuna (whom our president wants dead or alive)?
3) What has Pakistan done to dismantle the aftereffects of the AQ Khan network?
4) Why has Pakistan become a haven for terrorists?
5) Is Pakistan playing a double-game (a macabre dance), seemingly assisting the US on the war on terror, while continuing to stroke it?
6) What have they done to shut down the Madrashas (religious schools)?
7) Is the use of terror against India and "morally helping" Kashmiri militants still an official part of Pakistani foreign policy?
8) How safe are the nukes?
9) Where is Hamid Gul these days and what are his political ambitions?
10) Why is the Pakistani cricket team tampering with the cricket ball...just play the game, mate!

10 questions for pakistan...well they cud be more..but anyways some of the questions r from the baluchistan region which is ruled and controlled mostly by tribal areas and its very difficult to control them...and pakistan using alot of resources which is pulling alot of troops from the indian border to counter the threat from those rebels and terrorists and has played a vital role in the war against terror. The AQ Khan network is a work of only a few individuals and its being dismanteled, the reason why i guess pakistan is not going public about it is due to classified information which could be leaked.its the internal matter of the pakistan government and its being dealt with it well. Some matters are internal matters of the pakistan government and questions regarding nukes, madrashas, Hamid Gul dont concern anyone. About the ball tampering matter well its well known the australian umpire made a big mistake and was trying to get out of the mess but asking for half a million dollars. There is no proof that the Pakistani cricket team was ball tampering and were unfarily branded cheats by the umpire and the ICC should apologize to the Pakistan team and I think they should have come back to play instead protesting in the dressing room.

All right Zaeem, good to hear from you. But really why did Musharaff really sign the deal with North Warizistan folks. But, really President Musharaff has to deal with the US pressure now.

While I do follow World Politics I do not have much to say about any of the Questions that you posed here, especially since most of them require some sort of regional extpertice. However, in responce to Question number 4 'why has Pakistan become a haven for terrorists?' I must say that Pakistan has not really become ha haven for terrorists, it has become a haven for muslims. Pakistan is one of few Muslim nations in the region that can offer protection from US bombs (at least for the time being) and therefore those who have been forced out of their own countries have fled to Pakistan. The other main reason is that Pakistani's are mostly Muslims and when they see innocent Muslims getting killed mercilessly by Israeli's in Lebanon for no reason, they begin to feel anger. Terrorism more than anything else is born out of anger.

The other question I can respond to is number 10, the one about cricket. Pakistani fast bowlers have always been known to do things with a cricket ball that players from no other country can even think about doing (reverse swing). Due to this fact, umpires think that they are constantly ball tampering (which they are not). The umpire in question, Darrel Hair, is also notorious for calling Muttiah Murilatharan (the finest South Asian spinner of the past 20 years) for chucking on several occasions, despite him being cleared by the ICC. Darrel Hair not only wrongly accused the Pakistan team of ball tempering but he also had the audacity to award the match to England when Pakistan were simply protesting his decision. Would it have hurt him to abandon the match? No, he is a racist and should never again be allowed to officiate an International Cricket match.
